FAQ

I am trying to sell a pitcher but he is locked. Why?

For starting pitchers there is a five (5) day waiver period that starts from the date the player is purchased. If a manager starts the pitcher during the five day waiver period, the manager cannot sell him until after the waiver period. If the manager never starts the pitcher, he can sell him at anytime. Also, if you keep the SP on your team after the initial 5 day Waiver Period, you can sell them at anytime once the period has concluded.

For example, if a manager buys Johan Santana on Monday afternoon, then starts him on Wednesday. Once Santana locks into the starting position 10 minutes before the game, the manager will not be able to sell him until the market opens on Saturday.

If the manager never plays Santana, the manager can sell Santana at any time. The manager can also sell Santana at any time after the waiver period is over.

Note:  Starting Pitchers who are purchased during the pre-season trading floor will be treated as if they were purchased on March 24, 2008 for waiver purposes.  So, if you bought a Red Sox pitcher on March 15 and and play him in the March 25 game in Tokyo,  the first time you'd be able to sell him would be Saturday, March 29.
